Job Description

The Principal Enterprise Architect role is responsible for evaluating the design of the enterprise-wide technology architecture that defines the structure and operation of technical business solutions and ensures its alignment with business objectives and processes. They will work cross-functionally to lead the integration of recommendations that impact technical solutions in the existing architecture. Creating an organization-wide culture of collaboration across the business is crucial to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. Additionally, the incumbent designs and implements an architecture framework that resolves current architectural issues and incorporates best practices and recommendations tailored to the organization's needs and future direction.

  • Evaluate and ensure that the design of the structure and operation of business solutions across application, cloud, data, infrastructure, and security architecture domains optimizes performance, cost, and flexibility while maintaining security and compliance
  • Shape the overall IT Enterprise Architecture vision and strategy, develop detailed implementation plans and drive its execution
  • Lead the execution of integrating recommendations that impact technical solutions in the existing architecture, and provide guidance to the team members to upskill their executionary capabilities
  • Establish perspective on current architectural issues and lead implementation of best practices and recommendations tailored to the organization's needs and future direction
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive governance framework that defines internal control practices, architecture standards, and policies for simplification, automation, and optimization in alignment with the vision and processes defined
  • Determine recommendations required from architecture reviews and compliance assessments, and continuously improve upon the architecture review methodology
  • Develop and own the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the overall direction and vision of the organization
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost-benefit analyses, risk analyses, and development plans and leverage it for senior leadership discussions
  • Promote a culture of collaboration across the business, leveraging influence and negotiation skills to guarantee product and solution design alignment with architecture principles, policies, standards, and frameworks

Education

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or in lieu of a degree, at least 15 years of experience in technology delivery
  • Preferred
    • TOGAF Level 2, CISSP, CEAP, CSA, CSEA

Knowledge & Experience

  • 12-14 years of experience in designing complex enterprise systems
  • Demonstrated success in evaluating alternative technical solutions and providing recommendations
  • In-depth expertise in architectural frameworks and methodologies
  • In-depth expertise in cloud providers and modern architectures (i.e., microservices, serverless, containerization, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in managing and developing teams of technical resources
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to discuss complex topics when overseeing large teams and managing up to senior leadership
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities

This position works in the office three days a week and is eligible to work remotely two days a week.
