Job Description

This position will be part of a Shared Data Platforms team, responsible to partner with customers, collaborate with functional business analysts and other team members in driving appropriate design and implementation of technical solutions to meet desired business requirements. This position will lead the discussion in applying Oracle E-Business Suite & Oracle SAAS technology to solve complex solution implementation issues and RICEW development challenges. The Manager will work within a cross-functional team to provide technical expertise in the requirements analysis and designing solutions. This role will provide mentorship and training of other developers on processes and tools. This position will review and create OUM artifacts that can be leveraged across the solution implementation. The Manager will design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain the Oracle E-Business Suite & Oracle SAAS Applications within the application in accordance with the business goals and organizational architectural standards.

Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with business analysts, business users and developers in conceptualization and development of new technical objects within the Oracle applications environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients.
  • Analyze and assess existing procedures to allow the application to respond to business changes.
  • Evaluate requirements from functional specifications and create efficient technical designs.
  • Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution.
  • Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end.
  • Analyze and plan Oracle release upgrades.
  • Interview candidates and hire resources.
  • Conduct performance reviews of team members and identify areas of improvement, give feedback and manage career trajectory/merit increases.


Acquisition & Deployment

  • Develop complex technical objects in accordance with the technical development standards and best practices.
  • Proficient in handling the most complex technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques.
  • Understands different programming languages and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.
  • Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.
  • Create and resolve Service Requests in collaboration with Oracle Support.
    Provide generalized production technical support.
  • Gather business requirements and recommend industry best practices and work with functional knowledge holders.

Operational Management

  • Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases.
  • Improve existing support processes to make them more efficient, cost effective and simple.
  • Able to guide the team through the development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively.
  • Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration.
  • Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation.
  • Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability.
  • Must provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members.
  • Create process flows, high level functional and detailed technical design specifications from business requirements.
  • Provide customer support for business-critical application problems and issues.
  • Assist with testing and deployment of Release Update Pack and other module upgrades to keep application release level current.
  • Proactively work through service requests with vendor support as needed.
  • Provide support to System Administrators relating to custom responsibilities, security profiles, menus, and user account provisioning.
  • Partner with business analysts and application super users to successfully complete projects.

Incidental Functions

  • Task allocation, capacity planning and performance evaluation of team members.
  • Project scheduling and resource management.
  • Planning, budgeting, and reporting on projects.
  • Make presentations on project status, present monthly and annual reports to senior management.
  • Meet with client teams and gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress.
  • Assist with large scale projects may be required to contribute to efficiency, effectiveness, and success of the work.
  • Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks.
  • Train and share knowledge with development teams.

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 10+ years of IT experience.
  • 4+ years of managing and leading a team of direct reports
  • 6+ years of progressive responsibility of ERP application implementation and support experience.
  • Technical Leadership experience with Tier 1 organizations preferred.
  • Strong Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), preferably Oracle Supplier Hub SaaS and Oracle Product Hub SaaS.
  • Proven experience in 5 or more ERP modules including those in the Quote to Cash, Demand to Build, Procure to Pay, Accounting to Financial Reports or Warehouse Management.
  • Proven development expertise and experience in the Oracle Database system including skills in Oracle JET, Oracle Visual Builder Cloud services, Oracle Applications Framework (OAF).
  • Must be well versed with data models and interfaces for applicable ERP modules.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the 2 or more of the following tools: Linux/Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification.
  • Reporting and Business Intelligence experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
  • Experience with event-driven enterprise architecture.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or other packages.
  • Experience in Java development.
  • Experience in working with version control and software configuration management tools including Subversion, CVS, HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM).
  • Oracle Certification.
  • Conversational/Business competency in speaking/writing languages including Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin.(Not a criteria for selection. Its nice to have)

This position is eligible to work in the office three days a week and has the option to work remotely two days a week.
