The College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for the position of Interim Director of Teacher Education, a one-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, with possible renewal for two additional one-year terms, depending on institutional need. The appointment will be housed in the Department of Music, which is the home of the Music Education program, CWRU's largest licensure-granting program.

CWRU seeks a teacher educator with significant administrative experience to provide leadership for and manage the educational licensure unit at Case Western Reserve University while the university develops a long-term plan for the unit. The Interim Director of Teacher Education will teach two to three courses in the educational licensure curriculum, with the possibility of additional summer responsibilities. The university offers programs leading to Ohio licensure, including a BS in music education and a BA in Teacher Education in a variety of fields.In addition to assuming the responsibilities of Director of Teacher Education, the successful candidate will also serve as Director of the Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) and Multi-Age licensure programs.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include a doctorate in an educational field, 3 years of administrative experience, 3 to 5 years of successful PK-12 teaching experience, experience as a collegiate teacher educator, and familiarity with Ohio and national accrediting agency policies and procedures.
