Overview

Summary:


The Collections Representative II is responsible for analyzing policy detail, report data, and company policy to determine the best course of action for aged receivable balances. Timely resolution of the aged balances is accomplished through obtainment of payment, revision, write off, or referral to third party collection vendors. This position supports preservation of AmTrust's reputation and assets by providing excellent levels of customer service and sound receivable resolutions to all internal and external customers

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Research, review and assignment/reassignment of unresolved debts to third party collection companies
  • Collaborate with internal business partners such as the premium audit department, underwriting and others to resolve disputed balances
  • Preparation, submission and execution of write off related to uncollectible debts
  • Analyze and respond to inquiries from internal and external parties via Collections Team phone line and email inbox
  • Escalation of issues outside of capabilities or authority
  • Data entry into AmTrust proprietary system databases
  • Generate, review and update daily, weekly and monthly reports

Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of collections or accounts receivable experience in the insurance/financial industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including professional phone etiquette
  • Solid analytical skills with ability to organize data and documents with close attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly

Preferred:

  • BA or BS. Education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
