Job Description

Responsible for the care and maintenance of database solutions, including IT systems, applications, processes, and infrastructure, that have passed through the development cycle and are serving the business needs of our customers. Maintain current or near current levels of software, patches, features, and configurations for the IT systems. Assist in creating quarterly work plans of activities in support of customer/vendor goals and/or strategy. Assist in determining resource requirements needed to support the activities. Participate, with responsibility for some major deliverables, in the transition of support for new IT solutions that have been implemented. Develop and maintain an understanding of key processes, schedules, cycles, profiles, etc. for the technical systems in use by a customer. Participate in the planning and execution of the monthly maintenance process, including patches, system configurations, and preventative maintenance activities. Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters. Manage medium projects and change requests, using basic project management techniques. This position requires 5% domestic travel. Remote work from home is acceptable within a reasonable commuting distance of the Cleveland, OH office.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Database Admin Specialist, Database Admin Lead, Senior Oracle Database Administrator, or related role where required experience gained.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires experience in the following:

  • RMAN backup and restoration;
  • Oracle database upgrades and patching;
  • SQL Performance Tuning;
  • Oracle Golden Gate;
  • Oracle and AWS Cloud infrastructure;
  • Change management and ITIL processes; and
  • Database Migration and Unix Shell scripting.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa.

This position works in the office three days a week and is eligible to work remotely two days a week.
