About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

This position reports to the Manager of Learning & Development (L&D) and is responsible for the design, development, implementation, on-going maintenance and effective delivery of all Learning & Development offerings. It is a remote position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Program managing and facilitating elements of L&D offerings, programs, products, and/or services
  • Acting as a consulting partner along with HR Business Partners, to assess and collaborate on the delivery and facilitation of solutions targeted at increasing the organizational effectiveness of FirstEnergy leaders and employees
  • Developing instructional materials, including lesson plans, student materials, visuals, etc., as well as coordinating training facilities and equipment, managing training reports and attendance records, tracking measurement functions and surveys, and forecasting and trending participation
  • Acting as a consulting partner with business units to provide best practices and solutions to optimize learning and team building
  • Support Empower systems
  • Supporting and updating the SharePoint sites for Learning & Development
  • Maintaining ownership of key elements of L&D offerings, products and/or services, with minimal direct supervision (i.e., program management of the New Supervisor Manager Program)
  • Actively contributing to the ongoing improvement of L&D programs and process effectiveness by remaining knowledgeable of L&D trends
  • Leading or contributing to enterprise projects focused on employee or leadership development
  • Exercise independent judgment on complex projects and assignments
  • Develop and deliver presentations for varying audiences on complex subject matter

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline and minimum of 4 years relevant work experience required. In lieu of Bachelor's degree (preferred), minimum 7 years relevant work experience required.

Certifications in Vital Smarts Crucial Conversations, DDI, Culture Partners Accountability are preferred but not required.
