Job Description

The Consumer Products Sourcing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sourcing and procurement for consumer goods and products. This includes identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring the quality of products, and managing the relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the company's consumer product requirements.
  • Identify potential suppliers and conduct market research to assess their capabilities and suitability.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and resolving any issues or disputes.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of consumer products to identify opportunities for cost savings or product improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, marketing, and supply chain, to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess supplier performance, conducting regular supplier audits and implementing improvement plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance departments to ensure sourcing activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices in sourcing and procurement for consumer products.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and market intelligence, to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and procurement for consumer products, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing processes, strategies, and best practices.
  • Experience working with suppliers in Asia, particularly in China, India, or Southeast Asia.
  • Familiarity with Asian supplier networks and the ability to navigate cultural and business practices in the region.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using sourcing tools, systems, and software.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in sourcing and procurement.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.

The Consumer Products Sourcing Manager must have a deep understanding of sourcing processes and strategies for consumer products and possess Asia-based sourcing experience. This includes a proven track record of successfully working with suppliers in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia.
