Job Description

As theElectrical Process Control Engineeryou will provide technical expertise for designing, maintaining, and modifying the complex control systems used for process control and safety shutdown by our chemical and specialty material processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, and training to the site regarding safety and process control systems, process instrumentation, DCS, PLC, and power distribution.
  • Plan, design, estimate, manage and startup instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects. Assume responsibility for the instrumentation and process automation portions of broad, multifunctional projects.
  • Implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve control and electrical systems within the facility.
  • Support production and maintenance departments in continuous improvement, yield improvement, and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with internal resources, equipment vendors, and contractors to ensure successful implementation of projects and continuous improvement plans.
  • Provide leadership to safety program through continuous improvement to the electrical programs, including lock-out-tag-out, arc flash protection, and system maintenance.
  • Provide leadership around maintenance, testing and inspection, and upgrades of electrical infrastructure and power distribution equipment, including high voltage up to 23kV.
  • Participate in rotational coverage schedule to provide as-needed off-hour electrical and process control support of plant operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing/chemical process environment.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives, PLC programming, and HMI programming. Experience with Foxboro DCS and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with process instrumentation in an industrial process environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of power distribution systems, including switchgear and transformers.
  • Track record in delivering projects on time and in budget, while meeting project goals.
  • Troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
