Description

2nd shift opportunity

  • Builds tool and dies from part prints, sketches, reference parts, or instructions.
  • Operates tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner during the build process.
  • Performs tool and die repairs on progressive dies, manually operated dies, and tooling.
  • Diagnose and trouble shoot dies in the bench area and make corrections.
  • Work from T.C.O. program reports and last piece references to make corrections as required to produce quality parts.
  • Support press room operations by servicing die sets, trouble shoot dies and make corrections when possible with die in the press, and through using SPC data to determine dimensional integrity for die adjustments and document.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers, participate on problem solving teams in production, and handle customer and supplier concerns.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Support MOS and safety programs.
  • Also responsible for practicing good housekeeping standards. Performs other essential functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prefer high school diploma or the equivalent and completion of a certified 4-year apprenticeship program in die making and/or tool die making.
  • Tool and Die Makers must be able to stand on the concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands.
  • Visual precision is needed for visually inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed, and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Tool and Die Makers must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift up to 35 pounds from and to a height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.
  • Tool and Die Makers may be hired to work in a specific area, however, all team members are expected to be able to work in all production areas in order to promote productivity, quality & safety.
Qualifications

Experience
EDM Operator experience a plus (preferred)
